This Outfit

How cute is this outfit?!?!

IMG_4554

and to me it’s a very special outfit!!  Here’s the story!

I ordered this and one other outfit about a week before the twins were born.  It was the first thing I’d really let myself buy (besides bows) for my little girl.  But I found it and it was on sale so I went for it!!!  Well a week later the twins were born and as I did a lot of things in my life I forgot all about this outfit.  UNTIL I got it in the mail a few days after I got out of the hospital.  I opened the package, looked at the beautiful outfits and cried.  And cried and cried.  I was so scared I would never get to put this outfit on my little girl.  I was scared I would have to see it in a closet for months and years to come (because I would never be able to get rid of it) and ache for my little girl who was supposed to be wearing it.  So you can imagine how much I cried AGAIN when I got to put it on Karsyn!! Now granted it’s a little big and the pants might be rolled a few times at the waist.  But it’s on my precious little girl!!  And now I will never be able to get rid of the outfit…but for a much better reason…..because it represents the hope and joy God gave us in Karsyn Jane!!!

makes me smile :)

is this not the most pitiful thing you’ve ever seen!?!?!IMG_4558

I’m not sure what his problem was because the kid LOVES to sit up and this is normally what we see!IMG_4559

but it sure did make me smile when I walked in to see that lip all puckered up!!!  Just like it made me smile to walk in one day to find this…. IMG_4555

He just needed to show her how it works I guess!!!  And look at her paying such close attention!! IMG_4557

smiles??

These will probably only be of interest to the grandparents but I thought I would share them nonetheless!!!  I’ve been such a bad mom lately and haven’t really gotten the camera out much!  Poor twins…I think I have a hundred pictures per day for Brady’s entire first year!!!  Ahh the struggles of being a second and third child I guess!!!

Both babies have been smiling at us!! Kaden is smiling a ton and has an awesome open mouth smile that just melts my heart!!!  Karsyn isn’t quite as free with the smiles as brother, but she’s getting there.  She likes to smile with her eyes…she’ll hand out a grin every now and then but she’s a little more frugal!!!  Of course as soon as I brought out the video camera the smiles weren’t nearly as forthcoming!  Especially the video of Karsyn….she was cooing, talking and smiling up a storm…until I hit record….of course.  PLEASE disregard the insane baby talking momma in the background!  It’s funny how ridiculous I’m willing to sound/act to get a smile out of these babies!!

Oh well!! Enjoy!

Check out tubby!! Several people have mentioned it lately and I don’t know how I haven’t noticed before, but now I can’t get over it!!  Kaden is a mini Jeff!!!  He looks so much like Jeff!!  If only he was as laid back!!!!

sorry for the weird angle….I was laying down beside her!!  Notice how much she’s kicking and moving around!!!

5 months and 3 years

This is a bit late…..especially seeing as the twins will be 6 months next week but what the heck!!

We took ALL 3 kids to the doctor for check ups last Friday!  Yep…we’re crazy and I’m fairly sure we’re being kicked out of the practice after that visit!!!  The babies had their 5 month check ups ( a little late) and Brady had his 3 year check up!

Kaden is ON THE CHARTS for a normal 5 month old!! Granted he’s only in the 10th percentile…but he’s there!!!  Dr. Isenhower was very pleased with how well he’s growing!  He weighed 14.4lbs and was 22 1/2 inches long.  The only big change we made for Kaden was moving him to formula.  I have to admit this broke my heart a bit.  I really wanted to be able to feed him for at least a year.  BUT it just wasn’t going to happen with there being two babies to feed….just not enough milk.  SO since she thought formula would be better for his reflux anyway we decided sister would probably benefit from having breast milk a little longer and moved big boy to a formula to target reflux issues.  It’s taken me over a week to post this because I have honestly struggled with the transition more than I ever thought I would.  I felt like I was having to choose one over the other and all that fun mind game crap we moms like to put ourselves through!! BUT the truth is we have noticed a difference and Kaden seems much more comfortable with formula that he was with breastmilk.   I’m sure the fact that he’s on formula isn’t going to send him into therapy when he’s older….me on the other hand…we all know I already have one foot in that door!!!!  All of this is probably waaaay too much info for most of you but I wanted to document my feelings!!!

Kasryn looked great!! Not quite on the charts but still gaining weight.  She weighed 11.8lbs and was 22 3/4 inches long.  Yes she’s longer than Kaden!!!  Long and lean!!  We have actually noticed some pretty big improvements for her neurologically this week and I’m excited to go back to Dr. Dauser next week to see if these improvements are as major as I think they are!!!  So keep that in your prayers!!

Brady!! My big 3 year old!! It was funny….we did the twins first and you know the doctors bring in those curve charts to show you where on the curve your child is for weight and height and etc….so we’d obviously been looking at the bottom of that little curve for the twins but when it was big boy’s turn we got to make a HUGE jump up to the top of that curve!!!  Brady weighed 39 lbs and was 39 inches tall!  In the 90th percentile!!!  Unfortunately he had to get a shot  that didn’t go over very well!  All the way home he sat in the back and kept repeating “I not wike it dat lady”!! Poor pumpkin!!

All in all we have 3 healthy babies who are all growing and gaining weight appropriately!!!

back to work

Can you tell from the lack of posts that Jeff and I are both back to work?!?!  It’s been a busy week and a half, but we’re beginning to get back into the swing of things!  The school year is off to a great start….but don’t get me wrong we’re already counting down till summer!!

The babies have been staying at home with our new nanny, Sidonia.  We L-O-V-E her!  She is amazing and we are so comfortable leaving our precious babies home with her.  God  blessed this situation with someone who exceeded all our expectations……why were we ever worried!!  Brady will be starting the preschool program at our school in October.  Jeff and I are excited to have him at school with us 3 days a week, but we are very sad to leave For Children Only.  They have been such an amazing blessing for us the last 2 years and Brady loves his school.  We are going to miss everyone immensely but financially it just makes more sense to have Brady at home with Sidonia on the days he isn’t at preschool.  Right now, to give Sidonia a little chance to get adjusted, he IS going to daycare….but we will transition him home in a few weeks.

Going back to work has obviously been difficult.  However I explained to a coworker the other day that of course I would prefer to be home with my babies but being back to work means that my life is back to normal…and for that we are so thankful!!  I’m so thankful to come to work exhausted  because I’ve been up all night with 2 (sometimes 3) babies, I’m so thankful that we had to find a nanny for 2 babies, and I’m so thankful that I need to continue to work to help support our 3 children.  God has blessed us and our journey has definitely given us both a new outlook on life.  So many things are so easily taken for granted but our daily goal is to enjoy life and remember how lucky we are to have what we’ve been given!

On to the pictures…although I’m sure most of you have stopped reading by now!!!!

Just some randomness around the Brewer house the last few days!

What? doesn’t everyone sit in the kitchen sink to brush their teeth???? August 25 002

Brady has a blankie and a froggy that he sleeps with every night.  These two items are SACRED! We go NOWHERE without blankie and froggy…I know he’ll hate me for this one day.  We were getting ready the other morning and Karsyn was fussing a little on the floor.  I came back in to check on her and this is what I found!!!  Brady said “my sister was sad so I fink she needed blankie and fwoggie”  Melted my heart!!!August 25 003

Soccer Birthday!

For most of you it comes as no surprise that Brady requested a soccer birthday party this year!!!  Because of the twins and our needing to keep them fairly isolated we obviously couldn’t have a party at our house.  And seeing as Brady was born in August and it’s blazing hot outside we had to get a little creative!!!!  Soccer tots is a program that holds weekly classes that focus on soccer skills and activities….and they do birthday parties!!!!  PERFECT!!!  Brady was soooo excited to get to play soccer with all his friends.  We have been talking about his soccer birffday party for weeks!!!  And as is evident from the pictures he had a blast!!!!

The party started with an hour of soccer fun!! August 14 056

just for fun

My friend Ashley bought Karsyn and Kaden the cutest little monogrammed outfits!  The funniest part is when she was ordering them (before the twins were born) she asked me what sizes I wanted.  Knowing my history with babies I said oh let’s buy them big…we have big babies and I want them to wear them a lot!!   I’m quite sure God got a big chuckle at that comment!!!  Thankfully she had to reorder Karsyn’s outfit after the twins were born so we ended up with a 3 month outfit for Karsyn and a 6-9 month outfit for Kaden.  I happened to come across the outfits in the closet the other day and I’m sooo glad I got them out because they fit perfectly!!!!  In fact tubby (aka Kaden) might outgrow his in the next few weeks!!!!  They look so stinkin cute in their K outfits!!  Thanks Ashley D!!!!!

Kaden is bored and Karsyn is ticked….can’t please ‘em all!!!August 7 007

And of course I had a matching flower for Karsyn!!!August 7 005

And just for fun….

Kaden cracks me up.  We sit him up in the bathtub and he immediately flops over, props up his leg and makes himself comfy!!
