rub a dub dub

3 Brewer babies in a tub!  We took our first joint bath this weekend!!!  Kaden can now sit like a big boy in the tub, so we decided to try a big bath!  They had a blast…well, Brady and Kaden did…I’m fairly certain karsyn was unimpressed!  Little chaotic, but definitely worth the pictures!

I think Karsyn just got splashed…love the face!IMG_5250

gotta love Kaden’s big baby blues!IMG_5258

yummm a pirate!IMG_5260

Karsyn got to get out and play like a big girl for a while!  And yes, she’s holding on to Kaden’s ear!!  Guess it gave her a little extra stability!!!

if you’re happy and you know it…

clap your hands!!  Kaden has been clapping for a while now, but he now does it on command.  He’s pretty proud of himself and of course we think it’s pretty cute!!!

sharing is overrated

After bottles this morning I put the K’s on the floor to play while I got ready.  Of course I gave each of them several toys.  I came back in after drying my hair to find this……

IMG_5248Mr. Stingy had taken ALL the toys and strategically placed them all behind him and to his left…just to make sure Karsyn couldn’t get them.  Kaden, you’d better watch out! I have a feeling the feisty princess is taking notes, and one day, when you least expect it, she’ll come after you with a vengeance!!!  You’ve been warned!!

it’s no fun

being sick…..

My poor little pumpkin.  Doesn’t he look just pitiful?  Last week Kaden started coughing.  Trying to calm down a bit and not be the over zealous mom that rushes her babies to the dr every time they sneeze (like I"ve been doing for the past 5 months), I decided NOT to take him in right away.  The next day I had an appointment for Brady (next story), so I decided to bring my still coughing preemie along with me.  OF COURSE the one time I don’t rush right in he has severe wheezing that required immediate breathing treatments and a double ear infection.  We had to do breathing treatments every 4 hours – yes even in the middle of the night, which who am I kidding we weren’t sleeping -  and we’re still doing treatments 3 times a day.  Poor little boy!

And then there’s Brady!  He’d been complaining for quite some time (dare I admit almost a month – bad mom) that his leg hurt.  It was very intermittent, but it was still once a day for quite a while.  Well, for about 4 days prior to our visit,  his behavior changed drastically.  He was walking with a noticeable limp all the time, he was crawling up the stairs, and wouldn’t run AT ALL (which if  you know my child is the most troubling of all his symptoms).  So, being the “Crazy, I read too many blogs”  mom that I am, I made an appointment  to put my mind at ease.  After quite possibly the scariest dr appointment of my life (we tested for lukemia, did xrays to check for tumors and bone cancer, and tested for staph infection in the bone) 5 days of motrin 3 times a day has done the trick.

When I say these children are going to kill me one day, I’m not kidding! And it might be sooner rather than later!!!

Thankfully all seems to be back to normal in the Brewer house and we feel beyond blessed!

the wheels on the bus

This blog needs a little back story.  Brady’s preschool does several field trips in the spring semester.  Of course for these field trips they ride buses.  Brady has been obsessed with buses for a while.  I made the mistake one morning of telling Brady that he was going to get to ride a school bus…this was back in October.  Well, every morning…I”m not kidding EVERY morning he would ask me “do I get to wide the school bus today mommy?”  I finally told him (after about 2 weeks) that he would get to ride a bus after Christmas.  This seemed to suffice for a while.  Then one morning we passed a bus on the way to school and you could see the kids in it.  My intuitive little 3 year old piped up from the back seat with “huh it must be ver Christmas time already”  ha!  Now fast forward to Christmas morning.  Jeff and I of course have these visions of squeals and excitement over all the fun stuff we’d bought for him….he comes downstairs looks at his toys and turns to me and says “I get to wide a bus now!”

Sweet boy was so excited that Wednesday was FINALLY the day he got to ride the bus!!!  He wasn’t really concerned about the fact that he was going to a barn to see some animals too…..he got to ride a bus!!!  Of course I had to go down as they were leaving to document this momentous occasion!  Our first bus ride!!!

do you think he’s excited?IMG_5229

cabin fever

We’ve had some crazy weather around here lately, and last week we finally had a decent day…a little chilly…but decent enough to go on a walk!  Finally!  I bundled the K’s up and headed out…I thought they looked cute in their little hats so I thought I’d share!!

I actually took the pictures after we’d walked…evidently Karsyn wasn’t impressed!!!!

Man Work

Jeff and Brady do a lot of chores around the house together.  Daddy doesn’t go far without his shadow!  So if a fence needs to be fixed, weeds need to be pulled, oil needs to be changed and etc., the boys head out to do what they refer to as “man work”!  It’s really pretty cute and Brady loves spending time outside with his daddy and I think daddy might like it even more!

Last Saturday Jeff was gone to a soccer tournament.  Brady and I were doing our normal Saturday morning stuff which of course includes running out to wave at the garbage men at 7 am on the dot!  As we were waving goodbye Brady looked at me and said “Mommy, I haff a go do man work now”  He marched to the curb, picked up the recycling bin (just as he and daddy usually do) and walked it back in to the garage!  Such a good boy stepping in to be the man of the house when daddy is gone!!!

The picture is awful because I took it with my phone but here’s my sweet boy doing his man work!!!photo

I think Brady got a bad rep in my last post!  And although he’s in the midst of a VERY challenging stage he’s still a sweet little boy that I feel so blessed to call mine!!!  I just need to blow this picture up and put out to remind myself how sweet he is when he’s telling me he doesn’t love me anymore because I’m mean!!  Yes that really happened for the first time the other day…and yes I teared up….but yes I still made him go to his room!!!

we’re still here!

I think this is the longest I’ve gone between posts since the twins were born!  I guess life’s just been a little busy…and mainly…who has time to get the camera out?!!?!?  My good camera isn’t working properly so I’ve pulled out my old point and shoot…another reason for fewer pictures!  But last weekend the kids had on cute little valentines outfits ( I know it’s early) so I got out the camera.

Now, please don’t think I’m leaving out my oldest son…he had on a cute shirt too, but was completely uninterested in posing with his brother and sister.  LOVE my 3 year old!!  He is quite the mess these days.  Constantly testing his boundaries and pushing buttons I didn’t even know I had.  I truly feel that some days his entire goal for the day is to see how many different ways he can piss me off.  I know it’s a phase, and I know with consistent boundaries it will pass (right? please tell me I’m right) but goodness gracious I’m tired of fighting with him and telling him no and putting him in his room and popping his little disrespectful rear….yes, judge if you must, but we spank.  Count to 10 and pray….that’s my motto these days!

ahhhhh  I digress….on to the pictures!!!

My sweet little K’s who have assured me they will never go through the terrible 3’s!IMG_5213

my eligible bachelor and Karsyn in her first little skirt…couldn’t you just eat them up?!?!?IMG_5215

and it wouldn’t be a photo session with out a fight for the bow…..IMG_5223

okay I’ll leave it alone….IMG_5222

I can’t believe you actually fell for that one!IMG_5221

what?

   IMG_5219

and on a totally random note…the cole clan came to hang out a couple of weeks ago.  Kaden was sitting in the floor and Elizabeth decided to plop down in front of him and have a little conversation!  Too cute!!

daddy’s biggest fans

My mom’s friend Janet has always made Brady a Brook Soccer sweatshirt to wear to daddy’s games.  This year the twins had to be included in the action!!!  Thanks Mrs. Bassett!

Brook Soccer’s biggest fans!!!IMG_5175 IMG_5176

She also made them these precious onesies!!  They didn’t completely cooperate (story of my life)  but they say “he did it” and “she did it”…which I’m sure will also be the story of my life in a few years!!!IMG_5202

and in case you can’t tell big brother is sitting to the side obviously saying something very funny to Karsyn!!!IMG_5203 IMG_5205

a little randomness

Brady and Daddy joined the Dallas Brewer’s and Murphy family for ice skating to celebrate Zach’s birthday again this year!  Brady was so excited to skate again and kept telling me  how he was going to skate “all by myself”.

All by myself went a little something like this! IMG_5186

Aunt Melissa to the rescue!!!IMG_5191

taking a little break!IMG_5196

Of course Brady and I made our annual gingerbread house this year!  It might have been after Christmas, but hey we did it!!!

how cute are these pj’s my mom found for Brady!!IMG_5180

don’t look too closely at our roof!  We had a few structural issues!IMG_5182

play time!!!  I thought it was cute that they were all playing somewhat together!!IMG_5183 IMG_5184

Happy New Year from the Brewer’s!!!  2010 was definitely a  rollercoaster for our family!!  But in the end  it gave us our two precious miracles…for which we will forever be grateful!  Here’s hoping 2011 is a little less eventful!!!
