What a Week!

Wow, where should I start?!?!? Let's start with Friday before last. Mommy and Daddy decided to play "sick" and take the day off from work. Cooper's Daddy, Mr. Scott is a volleyball coach at one of the high schools in our area. Well, his team made it to the state tournament this year - yea Mr. Scott!!! SOOO, the Brewer's planned a road trip to San Marcos to see his team play! We were so excited and even headed down a little early thinking we would let Brady nap in the car and get a little outlet mall shopping in before the game. Well, no such luck....NO NAP. So, we have a cranky baby, but outlet mall or bust!!! We're looking around in a toy store when Brady trips over my foot and bangs his head on the concrete floor. Immediate blue goose egg! awesome! We calm him down, do a little more shopping and head to the game. By now, no nap is really beginning to take it's toll, so Jeff spends most of his time out in the lobby while mommy watches the game. During this time he manages to walk in to the window and has another goose egg on the other side of his forehead...at least he's symmetrical right?!? THEN it happens...Jeff comes into the gym and motions for me to come out...all I see is blood..... Brady fell AGAIN, this time we have two busted lips and a chipped tooth. That's right, my poor little boy is missing part of his front tooth. The good news.....he's fine and didn't damage his gums. The bad news......Brady will have a snaggle toothed smile until his permanent tooth comes in!!
Although Mr. Scott's team lost and we lost part of a tooth we still had a fun trip....and got some shopping in!!!
So we head home and gear up for Thanksgiving! My parents, grandmother, and sister and her crew were all coming over for Thanksgiving dinner, so needless to say we had a lot to do. However, mommy forgot to work into her schedule a trip to the dr. and a bad case of the CROOP! Brady has been sick all week. We took him in Monday....and he finally began to show signs of the Brady we all love yesterday. It's been rough. Bless his heart, he couldn't breath, he was hacking his lungs up, and wasn't sleeping at all. Mommy spent many an hour in the bathroom holding Brady while the shower ran to steam up the room. Fun times!
BUT we managed to make it through and actually had a great Thanksgiving. It was great to see our family and get to hang out and play. It was also nice to have a few extra hands around to help with the little guy.
Even with the chipped tooth and the croop lingering we have so much to be thankful for. I have a wonderful husband that I love very much, a beautiful baby boy that I love very much! And we have very supportive and amazing friends and family that we love very much!!! Life is great!
Here are some pics from the week. It wasn't all as horrible as I made it seem!!

Brady 'Houdini' Brewer

So, it's Sunday afternoon. Jeff and I are napping/watching football, and Brady is upstairs taking a nap.....or so we think! I go upstairs to get him when he wakes up and this is what I find......
It looks as if Brady got a little hot during his nap.

Here's the diaper

And here's the Baby...

Mom, there's a little draft in here

What's not pictured is the mess a nap sans diaper leaves behind!!!!!!

Back in the day

This weekend was the first annual Trollinger Girls weekend....or rather the first annual Trollinger Girls Thursday and Friday! My mom, sister and I went to a concert in The Woodlands on Thursday night, spent the night in The Woodlands, and then went to the Nutcracker Market on Friday. For those of you unaware, the Nutcracker Market is a B-I-G shopping extravaganza at Reliant Park. Over 300 vendors come, set up booths and thousands of women push and shove and do some Christmas shopping....it's wonderful!
As wonderful as it was, Thursday nights concert is the reason for my blog. We went to see....wait for it.....AMY GRANT! Some of you probably have no idea who Amy Grant is, but those of you who do know her know why I'm so excited!! She is in the middle of her 20 year reunion tour. Which means not only did I get to see Amy Grant but she played ALL old songs...nothing recorded post 1988. These songs were soooo my childhood. When Amy came out she talked about how great it was to be able to play songs from the past and she wanted everyone to think back and enjoy...even if only for a moment...the simple times when these songs first came out. And that I did. I was instantly transported back to a time when my biggest worry was not a failing economy but whether or not my multicolored, stacked slouch socks were completely covering the bottom of my tye dyed romper. I wasn't worrying about whether or not I was making the right parenting choices, but worrying about whether or not I had applied enough white rain hairspray to my feathered bangs and wings. And what an amazing, albeit incredibly awkward, fun time it was. To be a kid, to have your whole life a head of you and have no mortgage, no car payment...nothing!!
I was reminded of how grateful I am that I was raised to believe in God and sing about El Shadai and My Fathers Eyes. Those songs, and the fact that I was dragged taken to church every Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night molded the woman sitting in that seat waiting to hear Baby Baby (which by the way she never sang) that worries about the economy and the parent she wants so desperately to be. And even though they let me wear hideous zipper jeans and splatter painted clothes, and even though I have no idea how they afforded to send me to college with the fortune they spent on my hairspray....I'm so thankful for my parents and their influence in my life. For dragging me to church and allowing me to have the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. So thanks mom and dad...I love you!! And thanks to all those friends along the way that sang all those Amy Grant songs with me and lied to me and told me my hair looked cute. I've been so blessed. I hope Brady is blessed with Angles in his life as I was to guide him, and listen to him and I want most of all for him to have these wonderful memories to look back on with a smile on his face and in his heart!
Mom and Julie I had a blast and I HEART AMY GRANT. (even if she didn't sing In a little while or Baby Baby!!!)

And because I know you guys really come to see pictures not hear my stories....here you go!!!!

Fall Fun!

Yea for Fall! I love this weather! Last weekend Brady, Cooper, and Trenton took their Mommy's and Brady's Daddy to a Fall Festival at Armound Bayou. They had a ton of activities for kids, most of which were a little to advanced for Brady, but we had a great time! The scene was set back in the "Little House on the Prairie days", so it was pretty neat. The boys had a great time hanging out, and the parents a great time enjoying the weather!

The boys hanging out waiting on the Festival to start!
Stroller Races in the Parking Lot!

Trenton has Brady by a mile!
They had a small pumpkin patch outside the gate....of course this is the best pumpkin picture I got all year!

Best Day!!

Today was the most amazing day. We had a family day! The weather was beautiful, so we went to the zoo this morning (oops, we skipped church), then rode the train around Hermann park, and finished our great day with a great picnic in the park. It was wonderful.
Brady is so much fun...he's always been fun, but the more he grows and learns the more in love we fall! He is so interactive and loves to talk to us...in his own little language of course! He's recently discovered that not only can he walk, but he can run. And run he does. He zips from place to place and his little mind just soaks everything in. It's so neat to see things register in his eyes. He gets so excited!
He is the friendliest little fella I've ever seen! He waves at anyone and anything that comes by. And as he waves he shouts a great big HHIIIIII! So stinkin cute! I know these are things only a momma (and daddy) care about, but I want to be able to read about every one of these stages when he's 16 and I want to string him from the ceiling fan!!!!
SO, back to the zoo. This was our first trip since Brady started walking. He definitely "got" the zoo this time. He could walk up and see the animals and and enjoyed sticking his head up to the fence to get a better look. And of course all the animals were "dawgs". I promise we're working on other animals!!!

The reptile exhibit...mommy was not happy about this!

Elephants...you can't see him, but Brady is looking at Mack the baby elephant who actually turned 2 today! Happy Birthday Mack!

Brady showing daddy the dawg leopard!
The lions were so sleepy!
come look at this dad!

The train ride!

during our picnic the train passed by again....Brady of course waved at everyone!

God is great, God is good
hey that's my bite
see told ya it was mine!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is so much fun when you have kids!!! Dressing them up, having people ooh and ahh over how cute they are, and watching them experience things for the first time.....who could ask for anything more!
Brady obviously doesn't really understand the whole trick or treating thing...nor does mommy let him eat candy! So, we dressed up our little monkey and took him to Grandma's for a little trick or treating and then headed to the homecoming game. Brady had a great time showing off his costume for Grandma and playing at the game with Trenton.
Enjoy the pictures! Mommy got a new camera courtesy of Grandma and she's still trying to figure out how to use it!!!

ooh ooh ahh ahh

all this for me????

I've got some candy...let's go guys!
come on....

we've got people to see and candy to get!

come on Grandma...tell me where they put the candy...I'll be your best friend!

One day I'll be out on that field.....And this has nothing to do with Halloween, but what the heck! I took this pic of Brady last Sunday before church...look how handsome he is! Outfit courtesy of Ashley and Mimi Cox!! Thanks guys!!!
