Where's Brady?

We were upstairs the other night after bath time playing in the ball pit. Brady's always loved sitting in the balls, but tonight we really played in the balls. He would lay down and I would cover him up with balls. He would wait a second and then kick his feet and flap his arms like crazy to get the balls off. All the while laughing that deep belly laugh! It's so fun to see him grown and learn! He's becoming so interactive!! He now plays peek-a-boo with us - he'll hide behind a blanket and pull it off with a big grin on his face! And his favorite game is when we crawl toward him to "get him" he takes off crawling as fast as he can in the other direction - of course giggling the whole time! In case you can't tell, I'm LOVING my time at home with him this summer!!! We've finally gotten into our little routine (it only took two weeks!), we've figured each other out, and we're having a blast! Enjoy the pictures!
Where's Brady?

there's hands.....

there's arms....

there's face....

THERE'S BRADY!

We Found Nemo!!

Brady and I traveled to Moody Gardens on Tuesday to meet my good friend Jana, her girls Abbie and Anna Claire, and her mom Dana at the Aquarium. Jana and I have been friends since high school. We went to Baylor together (and of course were both Tri-Delts!), and we remained close while she lived in the Houston area. She is a great friend that I miss seeing as often since she moved to Rockwall...but we always have a great time when we get together and it's now fun to meet and play with our kids!! Anna Claire is about a month older than Brady and Abbie is almost 3...I'm sure these three will play together for years to come! (and soon Abbie and Anna Claire's cousin Parker can join in the fun!!!) It was so fun to get to meet up with you guys and even more special to get to see Jana's mom. Our group of friends spent A LOT of time at the Almquist home when I was in high school, so it was a treat to get to introduce Brady to Dana! Here are a few pics from our trip!
Mommy look..there's Nemo!
Here fishy fishy.
oh-no...he's really coming!

I don't know if you guys remember the post of our first trip to the aquarium back in November but check it out here. I got a little teary eyed when I thought back to the last time I took his picture in this shark cage. He couldn't even sit up in it by himself....he's getting soooo big! Three little Sharks all in the cage!

The rest of the story

The trip to Rockwall - post stomach virus! We swam, played, and took a trip into Dallas to see Aunt Melissa, Uncle Jason, Luke and Zach! Mommy and Daddy even got a night out in Rockwall for a date! A dinner that didn't require puffs, cheerios, and a majority of my time being spent cutting up a grilled cheese sandwhich into itty bitty bites! All in all a good visit and a smooth trip back to Houston! It was nice to be away for a while, relax, and definitely nice to have a pool at our disposal. I think Brady was a little confused when we got back Sunday and didn't go for our daily swim at 4:30!!!!Thank you Nana and Grandanny for letting us vacation at your house and for babysitting during our date!

Here Luke, you throw me this ball and then I'll throw it back to you

Aunt Melissa teaching the little guy how to play the piano

sweet boys! We're thinking of taking their show on the road! They play a mean Mary Had a Little Lamb!

You don't stack blocks Uncle Jason, you knock them down...let me show you

swimming is so fun!Hannah, I just love your hat!

Rockwall or Bust

It's Summer...a perfect time for road trips right?

That's what Julie and I thought when we decided it would be a great idea to load up all three kids......in one car....just the two of us....and head to Rockwall to see Nana and Grandanny. The day started a little rocky b/c Brady (and Jeff) were up all night the night before throwing up. But, since they'd shared a meal the night before, I wasn't sick, Brady hadn't thrown up in 3 hours and was acting FINE, we assumed it was food poisoning and decided what the heck..... let's go! The kids actually did great, we pumped Brady full of pedialite and after a stop at Julie's office in Conroe, a lunch stop in Huntsville, 2 bathroom stops (for me!), a rain storm with 60 mph winds, and an hour "lay-over" at Grannys, we made it to Rockwall in a mere 7 hours!! Just in time to help Grandanny blow out the candles on his birthday cake!

The kiddo's conked out!

Happy Birthday Grandanny!

We're having a great time.....kinda! We've had a great time swimming, and playing, we took the kids to chuck e cheese's, and went to the Bass Pro Shop to look at the fish and play on the boats!
Brady the Builder!
Smile for the camera Mr. Chuck e
Mom, can I have a token, this game looks fun
Here Brady, you have to be buckled in for this ride
High Ho Silver...Away!
Grandanny, can we have this boat.....puh-leeeeze

Daddy actually joined us in Rockwall on Thursday. Wednesday night/Thursday morning....this is where the "kinda" comes in. Remember Monday night when I thought Brady and Jeff were up all night b/c they had food poisoning.....W-R-O-N-G! Wednesday night I was up all night, Thursday morning Jacob had yucky tummy, Thursday night Nana had it, and Friday as the Cole's were headed back to Houston, Hannah had yucky tummy all in her carseat!!! So either it is a HUGE coincidence that our entire family had food poisoning all within 72 hours of each other, or the Brewers, along with their luggage, brought a stomach virus to Rockwall! The good news is it only lasts a couple of hours, and we all seem to be feeling MUCH better!

We are still in Rockwall and will be heading back to Houston Sunday...so I'll post the weekend adventures then!

Zippity ZOO-dah

Am I creative with my blog titles or what?!?!?! I'm a little behind on my blogging BUT better late than never right?
Last Friday, Brady and I met Cooper and his mommy (Shannon), and Trenton and his mommy (Stacy) at the Houston Zoo. We had a great time! We saw lots of fun animals, and had a great time playing the water, and riding the carousel. We love the zoo and love going with all our friends! We also LOVE getting lost on our way to lunch with our friends....but an hour later we had a great lunch in the Rice Village! (Yes that says an hour, yes we were at the zoo, and yes the rice village is usually right around the corner.....don't ask!)

Show us the animals!

The boys looking at the fish in the aquarium. Yes, my kid's the one with no shoes!

When there's a water park at the zoo and you didn't bring a swimsuit for your child, it's okay to strip them down to their diaper right? Brady's going to need therapy when he's older isn't he?? Ride 'em cowboy!!
oh yeah, lots of therapy!

It was a little difficult to get a picture with all three boys looking at the camera!

Notice Brady is always the one sitting in one spot for the camera. Some may say this is because my child can't walk yet, I on the other hand choose to think this is just an example of solid parenting!!

That fish is my favorite, which one do you like?

I LOVE this last picture...how cute do they look "talking" about the fishy!!!

Again, a little late with the blog, but that was our second trip to the zoo in a nutshell....I have a feeling we have many more zoo trips in our future so stay tuned!!

Who needs Robin...

When you have Batman?! Check out the little guys new pajamas! Shannon found these cute pj's at Walmart...they have Batman and Superman complete with a detachable cape!! How cute!
All superhero's have a drool stain on their shirt right????

And what better time to learn how to clap than when wearing your new batman pj's!!!! Yep, Brady is now clapping for everything he does right.....or wrong! It's pretty cute!!

Monkey 'n Around

Daddy had a break from summer school on Wednesday, so Brady and I took advantage of this time and took dad to Monkey n Around, and indoor playground in our area. Brady had a great time sliding, rocking on a puppy dog, playing in a firehouse and SOOO much more!
It's so fun to watch him move around from toy to toy and choose what he wants to do. He's becoming such a little man and developing the cutest little personality(and I"m not biased AT ALL) The last time we went to a play ground like this he wasn't crawling so he basically just sat wherever I put him. But now he's all over the place....and I can only imagine how much more fun it will be when he starts to walk/run around the place!!!
Here I come Mommy!

Knock, Knock. Mom, it's boys only in the fire house...I'm going to have to shut the doorBack to the Caterpillar! We did a lot of back and forth!

Look Daddy, I'm riding a puppy!WEEEEE
These zebra's sure do bounce around a lot!
vroom vroom
Mom did you see how fast my car took that corner?
Brady kicked back enjoying his ride in the Coupe!

It's a Grandanny, It's a Daddy

NO, it's Tetris Brady!!!!
For those of you that aren't a member of our family, My Dad and Jeff have a little competition going with their hand held Tetris game. They spend hours on end playing this silly game and calling each other to rub it in when they beat the current high score! Actually Jeff does the calling b/c he's had the high score for quite a while now! BUT....move over Daddy and Grandanny....I came into the living room tonight and found this....
Is this that Game Dad's always playing?
I don't know what all the fuss is about...this is easy!
I like playing it this way better!
What's this button do?
Grandanny...don't tell Daddy, but I erased his high scores so you could be the winner!
