Big Boy Food

Bring on the steak and potato's! Brady's moving on to finger foods...well some finger foods! This is a huge step for mommy - you know the one who cut the puffs - yes the ones that melt in your mouth - into 4ths before giving them to her son. So far we've diversified our diet by adding diced carrots, peaches, pears, and banana's!
I like to eat, I like to eat, I like to eat eat peaches and banana's! (a little shout out to my days at GA camp...some of you are singing the song in your mind right now I KNOW it!!)
And I thought baby food was messy....
My kid can E-A-T, for this meal alone Brady had 1/2 a jar of diced carrots, 1/2 a jar of diced peaches, 1/2 a banana AND a jar of macaroni and cheese! Can you say oinker?
Scratch that...his chair seems to have confiscated a portion of the meal listed above!

We took a long walk in the neighborhood yesterday....walks are very tiring for little boys in case you weren't aware!

Monkey see, Monkey do!

Anything you can do I can do better!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears...

OH MY!!!!! It was a beautiful Sunday here in Houston, so the Brewers decided to head to the zoo to meet up with Grandpa and Grandma Nan!!! Brady was so excited he could hardly contain himself! When we got to the zoo we quickly realized that "Earth Day" is not the best day to go to the zoo. Nonetheless we had a great time and are now proud MEMBERS of the Houston zoo thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Nan..thank you thank you thank you! You can bet the Brewers will be making TONS of zoo trips this summer!

The Brewers go to the zoo!

Show me the animals!

What's in there? I can't see.....

Daddy...are you sure that Lion can't get me?If you look closely you can see the "baylor" bear asleep in the back
BIG Elephant!Giraffe's are Tall, and thumbs are good!

Time for a puff's break

Grandpa, I'm going to need some water to wash down my puffs

Not only did we get to see all the zoo animals, but Brady got to pet a goat in the petting zoo.....

Sit under a beaver dam......

AND ride a giraffe on the carousel with Mommy and Daddy

Doesn't every 8 month old come home from the zoo with a t-shirt and two stuffed animals?!?!?!? Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Nan!

Oh the faces we can make

Brady is adding a new face to his repertoire of expressions everyday! My favorite is one where he crinkles up his nose, scrunches his eyes and smiles....but of course I've yet to capture that one on film. I guess that one will have to be a blog of its own...but in the meantime...
The many faces of Brady Scott Brewer
What?

too cool for school

laughing out loud

flirty dimple grin

It's so neat to see the little guys personality beginning to form little by little. He's becoming very "busy". He loves to move around....is he crawling? Sort of. He can definitely move from one place to another, now whether or not his method of movement is defined as crawling...the verdict's still out!

We had a visit from Grandanny and Nana this weekend. We traveled to Jacob and Hannah's house Saturday morning to play, and then Grandanny and Nana came back to Brady's house to spend the night. We had a great time, but for some reason I didn't take all that many pics....here's to the one's I did take!

I promise Hannah is 5 months older than Brady

Miss Priss relaxing by the pool! I like my fingers......you should try your fist I'm almost there....
Thanks for coming to visit Nana and Grandanny

Broken Heart

My son decided to break my heart this week. I took him to the babysitter on Tuesday, just like I always do. Today however, when Becky put out her hands to take Brady (like she always does), Brady turned, latched on to me, and buried his head in my shoulder. Then he just laid he head on my shoulder and looked up at me. Okay what mom in their right mind could leave their child at that point. So needless to say I was late to work that day. I'm no idiot...when my child wants to cuddle...I'm going to cuddle. It broke my heart to leave him. Don't get me wrong..he's not unhappy at Becky's, he has just officially entered his clingy phase!

He must sense that mommy's about to leave him for a weekend. That's right folks 48 whole hours...Daddy and Brady will be on their own. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but I have a Monday night bible study group. There are nine of us that meet every Monday for fun, food, fellowship, and bible study! Well, Bethany, one of the girls, has a lake house on Lake Livingston so we're going to kick back, relax and enjoy some girl time at the lake!! I'm very nervous and already dreading having to say good-bye, but I'm sure a little girl time will be just what the Dr. ordered! Daddy is VERY pumped up about boys weekend - especially since Brady's been clinging to Mommy this week...daddy's ready to try to stake his claim as the favorite parent! And any of you that know Jeff know that I'm totally serious. Jeff's very upset that Brady's liking mommy these days!!

Okay, now for pictures....after all it's the real reason most of you visited the blog!!!
Is there anything more cute than a baby in a bath tub??? We got Brady some more bath toys the other day...looks as if he likes them!!

Okay I was going to come up with some cute comment for this picture...but I can't stop laughing...what a cute little face! Look at those pearly whites!! who needs puffs when you have toy boats?
Mom, don't look now, but there's an octopus on my bottom

Okay, we have the BEST exersaucer/walker! If any mom - to - be is looking for a good purchase I recommend this little jewel! Brady LOVES his little entertainment table and LOVES scooting around it like a big boy. He's so funny when he takes off "running" around his activity center. It's amazing what you laugh hysterically at as a parent!! It's even funnier what you do, as a parent, to make yourself and your child laugh. NO, Jeff and I DID NOT pretend to chase Brady in circles the other day while he ran around trying to get away from us!

SPLISH SPLASH

The Brewers spent Sunday afternoon hanging out by the pool in the backyard. That's right folks...daddy bought us a pool!!! Okay, don't get too excited our new pool isn't the under ground, diving board, rock wall and waterfall I'm sure you were all picturing...BUT, we think it's pretty cool - our own little backyard oasis! We spent the afternoon sitting outside soaking our feet and splashing around in our new
"kiddie" pool...Brady had a blast...check out the little man in his trunks and hat!!

Here's daddy getting the pool all ready for us. Little advice from the Brewers...check to make sure you have the necessary attachments for your air compressor BEFORE you get home with your new pool!

Here's our little swimmer! Can I PLEASE get in the pool now mom?
Check it out! Complete with a canopy...only the best for the Brewers!
This water's a little cold mom...
Can I get out now?
The whole fam! Abby and Dudley were pretty jealous!

HEEEYYY..don't drink my water

Check out that belly!! Don't fight ladies...there's plenty to go around!!But I wasn't ready to get out Mommy....
We had a pretty busy weekend complete with a visit from Granny (who was gracious enough to come down and keep Brady Friday while mommy and daddy went to work - thank you Granny!), a visit from Aunt Julie, Uncle Matt, Jacob, and Hannah, Brady's friend Trenton's first birthday party, AND a visit with the Simonds where Brady got to take his very first wagon ride! However....mommy left her camera at Trenton's birthday party, sooo you will have to anxiously await pictures from our busy weekend!!
