Trip to Dallas

We made a very last minute decision to go to Dallas this weekend.  We got to visit with Grandanny and Nana and also spent the afternoon with the Dallas Brewers!  The boys had a great time playing!  Brady is now old enough to actually play with Luke and Zach, and it was fun to watch them interact with one another!

Saturday morning we went with Grandanny and Nana to the Dallas Arboretum to see their pumpkins!  The Arboretum is absolutely beautiful…I think I would spend a lot of time there if I lived closer!!

Here’s a couple of pics from the arboretum, unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures of our time with the Brewers….I guess we were having too much fun!!

Homecoming Parade

It’s homecoming time again at our school…and with homecoming comes the parade!!!  Brady was very excited about the parade this year and was even more excited that he got to see and play with “Tenton”!!  I made the mistake of going back to look at the parade post from last year…what a difference a year makes…I can’t believe how much they’ve changed and grown.  Click here to join me on my nostalgic walk down memory lane!!

I work hard for my money

Brady now has a chore!  Before you judge us please know that this is basically a self appointed chore, but it’s stinkin cute none the less.  Brady has watched Jeff feed the dogs every night, and for the past month or so has insisted that he “feed doogs” .  This process starts as Brady walks out the door and greets the dogs with “hey dud” (Dudley is the name of our black lab….for some unknown reason the dogs are collectively referred to as Dud now…)

Next he goes straight to the trashcan  food container, opens it and scoops up the food.September 179

next we carry it over to the edge of the deck, sit down  and scoot off the deck…all the while carefully monitoring the food.September 182

all done!  just one more step to complete the chore….September 187

put the “scoop” back in and close the  lid!September 189

Brady gets so excited to go out and feed the dogs…and it’s hilarious to watch him do it!! Such a grown up boy with chores!!  A chore which by the way he gets no actual money for, I just thought the title was cute!!!!

lego my legos

Saturday was Jacob’s 4th birthday.  I can not believe that little boy is 4 years old!  It’s been a wild, crazy, and fun 4years and we were so excited to celebrate in grand style!  Aunt Julie did a great job throwing Jacob the lego birthday party he wanted!  From lego ice, to lego candy and even a lego cake and waffles  the kids had a blast!  Happy Birthday sweet Jacob!

ready for school

Friday was sack lunch day at Brady’s “school”.  He was sooo excited about carrying his lunch box!  We took his lunch box all last year, but evidently it just now became “cool”!!  He was so proud and wouldn’t put it down!!  I couldn’t even get it out of his hands long enough to turn it the right way in his hands….so you’re looking at the back of it!  But I thought he looked so grown up holding his little lunch box!

lovin’ life

Next to Christmas this has to be one of my favorite times of year.  Football season!!  There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the couch and watching football on Saturday and Sunday afternoons!  We’ve done just that the last two days!  I’ve loved spending time with my two favorite boys!  And I must say I enjoyed rooting for my fantasy players today…which I might add have done VERY well!!  It was a good day for the brew crew….sorry stacy!!

Volleyball and Thomas the Train

On Friday we went to the Brook vs Creek volleyball game.  Brook is the team that mommy used to coach for and Creek is the team Cooper’s daddy coaches for!  The boys had fun running around and watching the girls play volleyball, and mommy was excited to watch the Clear Brook girls beat Creek!  Sorry Scott!!!

On Saturday we met the Flores family at toys r us for the Thomas the Train event.  It wasn’t as much of an “event” as I thought it would be, but the boys had fun coloring, playing with trains and every other toy in the store!!  We then had lunch and play time at Chik fil a!  A fun afternoon!
