Several weeks ago….

we attempted bluebonnet pictures.  Evidently bluebonnets are very very scary!  Brady screamed the majority of the time.  By the time we got him calmed down he was in no mood to look at  the camera for the pictures….oh well!

We had a very low key weekend…nothing fun and exiting to report or document with pictures!  The little man came down with a fever on Wednesday afternoon.  After a spike in fever and a trip to the doctor we found out that there are two different strains of hand foot and mouth disease and evidently it’s possible to get BOTH strains within 2 weeks of each other.  My poor little man had/has 9 blisters in his mouth.  Can you say ouch?  (sidenote – ask me how fun it is to hold a toddler down to count the 9 blisters in his mouth!)  So, we’ve spent the last few days trying to get Brady to stop pointing to his tongue and saying ouch, and to eat or drink something.  His fever finally broke Sunday morning…yes that’s almost 5 days with a fever.  So evidently we’re on the road to recovery!  Hopefully next weekend will be a little more exciting!  We’re headed to the beach to celebrate Daddy’s birthday!  Until then here are bluebonnet pictures Brewer style!

Scary flowers I tell ya! April 104

The little engine that could!

After being stuck inside all day Saturday because of the Great Flood, we decided Sunday we needed an outing.  Brady takes a pretty early nap so I thought it would be a great idea to go to the zoo and ride the new train after naptime.  WHO KNEW it was Earth Day and dedication day for the new plaza outside the zoo?!!?  After driving through a very crowded parking lot for almost an hour we were about to throw in the towel and head home.  Daddy turned down the last isle…the one closest to the zoo and we found a spot!!!  I don’t think anyone can understand what a great feat this was!!  We got a front row parking spot!!

We had a great afternoon.  The new plaza is absolutely gorgeous and a great place to walk and play, the train was fun, and we even managed to work in a exhibits at the zoo!!  All in all it was a great afternoon!  What a great way to spend Earth Day!

We ended our great afternoon with a little ice cream out by the fountain!

I’m a cowboy baby…….

Couple of things……..every night before bath time, we strip Brady down to his diaper before we go upstairs.  Brady is very into dancing these days, he loves to show off his moves!  He’s also very into wearing hats (cowboy hats, construction hats…take your pick).  These things in and of themselves no big deal right?  Put them all together and this is what you get……..

stick it to ya!

Brady is a BIG fan of stickers these days!  I’ve stocked up on all the sticker books I can find (at the dollar store!)  and we have a great time putting the stickers on the pages they’re suppose to go on!  He also thinks it’s HILARIOUS to put stickers on his face AND our faces.    We had a flood in Houston on Saturday….so what else do you do when you’re stuck inside all day??  You let your son cover you in stickers!!!  Daddy was such a trooper!

Daddy you want a sticker on your shirt?? April 399

Easter ‘09 in review!

Warning: this is a LONG post with LOTS of pictures!  The Grandparents will love it…everyone else is probably rolling their eyes at me right now!

We celebrated Easter on Saturday with my parents and the Cole Crew.  Sunday’s forecast didn’t look very friendly, so instead of having disappointed 3 and unders we decided to hunt eggs early!

I saw these adorable cake pops on Bakerella’s blog (if you haven’t heard of her check her out!) and decided to try my hand at them…they turned out pretty cute…not bad for my first time!April 235

and it looks like they passed the yummy test!April 242

What would an Easter celebration be with out egg dyeing  - Brady’s second attempt and we STILL got brown eggs!  Yes my child is in a diaper and crocs….judge if you must!April 350

Jacob was very into the egg dyeing….so cute to watch him so intent on coloring the eggs just right!!!

LOOK it’s GREEN~! April 356

Easter Egg hunt – our neighbor “accidentally” left a hose on in their backyard for – oh I don’t know 36 hours – and it completely flooded half of our backyard…SO our Easter Egg hunt was moved to the park!!

The Easter Bunny came  - hurry daddy!April 244

The hunt!April 249

Sweet Hannah took egg hunting seriously!  She ended up with more than double the amount the boys found combined! Go Hannah Go!April 252

Once Brady figured out there was food inside the eggs the hunting slowed down and the eating commenced!April 254

Happy Easter to All!  I hope you’re as thankful as we are for the sacrifice Christ made on the Cross.  What  blessings we’ve had bestowed upon us all made possible by God’s amazing Grace.

Let’s go fly a kite

Brady got a kite in his cute little Easter basket  - that I somehow forgot to post a picture of!!April 382

SO on Tuesday afternoon we took our new Elmo kite, headed to the park and let her go!April 396

Brady did a great job and LOVED watching elmo set sail!April 370

He held it for a good 3 minutes….and then he was done…..so he let it go….

April 372

This isn’t a great picture, but it’s Jeff and Brady running after the kite when Brady let it go…….he didn’t catch it…..April 373

So we waved bye bye to elmo…….as Brady chanted “whe d gooo?” April 394

it was fun while it lasted!!!  Good news is I only paid $1.50 for the elmo kite!!!!

Egg-celent Day!

Today we dyed Easter Eggs!  I didn’t know how interested Brady would really be in this activity, but 12 eggs, one dyed body, and one hosing down later – I think it was a hit!  Jeff and I sat down with him and started decorating our own very meticulously.  Jeff even had some double colors going!!  We quickly realized that pretty eggs weren’t happening as Brady took every egg we set out to dry and dumped it into a different color….most of our eggs turned into brown beauties!!!

The pretty turquoise egg…..soon to be dark purple!April 183

You mean I get to make a mess and it’s okay??April 171

a quick glimpse at our pretty eggs before they were re=dyed!!April 174

but brown is my favorite color mom…April 176

Brady was covered in dye after our egg decorating so we decided today would be a great time to get out Brady’s new water sprinkler attachment.    Brady had a great time running through the sprinkler and we had a great time watching him!!!
