When the Cat's away....

The mice will play!
I hosted a Southern Living Party at our house Sunday afternoon. Since this is a girls only affair, Brady and Daddy went to visit Grandpa and Grandnan. And man did they visit!!! Brady had a ton of fun stories to tell me...and he also managed to come home with a few goodies as well! You've gotta love it when Grandnan has Gymboree bucks that are about to expire...it's almost as fun as when Mom and Grandma find the sale racks at Macy's!! This kid is nothing if he's not well dressed!! Thanks Grandpa and Grandnan!!!!
Which one's your favorite mom?!?

But did you see the shoes??

Does this hat make my head look big?
How about from the side?
Not only did they buy out Gymboree, but they also got to visit MaMa-one of Brady's great grandmothers!
I'm gonna get you MaMa....
.....and give you a big slobbery kiss!
Brady thought MaMa was hilarious. Every time she started talking he would laugh!
MaMa and her new little buddy!
So, needless to say, daddy and Brady had a great visit with Grandpa and Grandnan....mommy missed out on all the fun!
Also this week......
As I've said, Brady has really started realizing what his hands can do. He loves to grab our faces...it's pretty sweet (unless his hands are soaking wet with slobber!)
Rub a Dub Dub......
a little boy and duck in the tub!
Have a great week!!!!

I've been tagged!

Okay...JB tagged me to name 10 things about Brady. Normally I don't play along with these things...but you guys are lucky I like talking about my kid!!
1. Brady really is a great baby. We were out this weekend and were around another baby about Brady's age. I was reminded of how easy he is as this mom was up and down and walking trying to keep her child from fussing. All the while, Brady just sat there with his hand in his mouth!
2. The kid can EAT! Before we started veggies and cereal he was drinking over 40 ounces a day. Now he's down to 32 ounces...BUT he eats 5 tablespoons of cereal, an whole jar of any give veggie (he's not particular), and an entire jar of any given fruit (again not picky). JB you said AK could out eat SK...I bet Brady could give her a run for her money as well!!
3. Brady has the sweetest smile....that is accompanied by the BEST dimple! He gets these dimples from Grandanny and we're so thankful for them! Melts my heart!
4. Along with his smile, I love the way he smiles with his eyes! They just seem to sparkle! His whole face lights up and he give you the sweetest little look. A look that I'm sure will get him out of his fair share of trouble in the years to come!
5. HIS LAUGH is awesome (in case you missed the previous post...check it out!). There is nothing better than hearing that belly laugh.
6. Brady loves his daddy. As I've said before, he'll just sit and stare at Jeff and make noises until Jeff looks his way. His face lights up whenever daddy walks in the room!
7. He already has several girlfriends! Mrs. Becky said he's the most popular boy at her house! All the little girls love playing with him and making him laugh. And when it's time for Brady to leave they all take their turn to come tell him goodbye!
8. He loves to cuddle!! He's starting to get a little busier, but he still loves to lay his head on your shoulder and cuddle his little head up to your neck.
9. He's starting to discover that his hands can pick things up. It's so fun to watch him grab a toy and work to get in his mouth. He opens his fingers one at a time and wraps them around the toy and then cross eyed watches it into his mouth!! waaay cute!
10. He has feet!!! He LOVES playing with his feet right now, and of course the socks HAVE to come off. However, the belly's a little too big to get those feet into his mouth...but we're doing sit -ups every morning to help with that!!!

when I sat down to do this I thought it would be hard to come up with 10 things...turns out I probably could have done 20!!!! Okay, I tag Julie and Shannon. Let's see who does it first!!!!!

Favorite Sound

I know I just blogged...two blogs one day...wow.
BUT, I had to share. I don't think I will ever get tired of hearing Brady's laugh! It brings such a smile to my face. Brady loves his daddy. Today I had Brady sitting in my lap and Jeff was across the room on the other couch. Brady just stared at Jeff (who wasn't paying attention to him) after a little while Brady would make a noise so that Jeff would look over at him. Brady was so proud of himself. Jeff would look away again...Brady would watch...make a sound and again he was excited!! Anyway, that really doesn't have anything to do with this video, but I thought it was cute...here's Brady laughing at his Daddy tonight!
So CUTE!

Dedication

Sunday was Brady's baby dedication at our church. All of Brady's grandparents were in attendance as well as Aunt Julie (uncle Matt and Jacob and Hannah were there in spirit...or in the parking lot asleep!) and Uncle Jason, Aunt Melissa, Luke and Zach drove in from Dallas...we were so glad they could make it! We were also joined by our sweet friend Mrs Shannon (AKA Coopers mom) We have to say a big thank you to Mrs Shannon for being a part of this special day, b/c while she was at Brady's dedication, Cooper decided to take his first steps....we love you Mrs. Shannon!!!
The ceremony was great and Brady was a champ! After the ceremony everyone headed back to the Brewer house for dinner. Brady had a great time hanging out with his guests...especially Luke and Zach....Brady thought they were pretty funny and can't wait until he can run around with them!!
Someone asked me this past week if I still look at Brady and think "holy crap I have a kid" I said no not really, but I do constantly look at him and think "holy crap...I'm responsible for teaching this kid EVERYTHING". The amazing reality of this hit home even more during his dedication. God has entrusted us with this little life....this perfect little being. What an awesome job we have ahead of us......overwhelming at times....but so exciting. I know....I haven't really gotten sappy on this blog yet..so here it is - won't happen again for a while so enjoy it! In case you haven't picked up on it...we love this little guy so much. We relish every moment we get to spend molding and shaping him as God has planned. Here is the poem/pray we had read for Brady at the dedication....and then pictures to follow! Thanks for humoring my hormonal moment!
The Lord has blessed us once again
with the birth of you our precious son
a gift of love sent down to us
a blessing to everyone
we pray God will impart to us
His wisdom and His grace
That we may raise you to become
a man with Godly Faith
The Brewer's ready for the dedication. Check out his cute outfit...Thanks Grandma!!!

Evidently teething doesn't take a break for dedications! Who needs a teething ring when you have daddy's arm!

This is right after our individual prayer time with one of our Deacons....it's also right after Brady spit squash down the sleeve of my white shirt. On to some random pics!

Look Mom....I have feet! It's cold outside!!
So many toys...which one do I choose?!?!

we have very few pictures these days where his hands aren't in his mouth. Imagine how fun feeding him is with this habit!
Look at those sweet eyes!
Mommy's little boy...Okay Mommy and Daddy's little boy!
She does this all day guys
Give me a kiss dad!

Our "Little" Man

Wow, Brady is almost 5 months old....can you believe it? He is getting so big and learning and changing so much each day. He's recently mastered grabbing things and putting them in his mouth. It's really cute to see those little hands struggle and then to finally figure it out and accomplish the task at hand! I also think he's teething....we have some heavy chewing of the hands and anything else he can get into his mouth going on. We got to Mrs. Becky's on Monday and on the car ride over (mind you it's only like a 10 minute car ride...maybe 12 minutes if you factor in my stop at sonic for a diet coke!) Brady had successfully given himself a hickey on his hand......should I be worried?!!?!?
Here are some random, but cute pics!!!
All dressed up and ready to go get my shots!
Brady LOVES his little jumper....it's exceptionally fun now that he can grab all the toys that hang down from it!
Hi Mr. Fish, my name is Brady

I've been working on the railroad! Brady got these overalls for Christmas from the Carrell family...how cute is he?!?!
Watching Football with Daddy.....
Brady really likes the TV...can you tell (I promise we don't let him watch TV all the time..these were just cute pics!)
nor do I let my child hang out naked all the time, but look at that belly! a true man...shirt off, tv on, remote in hand!
Okay I put this picture last b/c I was hoping Jeff wouldn't look down this far...he's going to kill me for putting it on the blog - but it was too cute!
I walked in the living room the other morning and Jeff was talking to Brady in his lap...this is what I saw.
How hilarious is that?!??!

**UPDATE**

Just a little FYI...many of you faithful blog watchers have been asking for Brady's birth story. So I've finally typed it out (and cried through most of it!!) So check our very first blog Brady's Here for an update. Warning...it's a long one!!

Christmas....The Rest of the Story

Well, on the 26th Jeff, Brady and I headed back to Houston to get ready for the rest of our Christmas festivities. On the 27th we went to Grandpa and Grandma Nans house, met up with the other Brewers and opened presents and had lunch. After lunch, the whole clan came back to our house and were joined by Grandma Nans side of the family and MaMa. We had a great time and were glad to get to spend time with everyone.
On the 28th, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Rons house...again met up with the other Brewers (Uncle Jason, Aunt Melissa, Luke, and Zach)....and opened presents, played and ate dinner. As the days of Christmas passed my picture taking declined!! You'll notice the number of pictures at Grandma's house are slim...part of this due to the fact that I spent part of the day at Target buying clothes and diapers for my son who decided to go through 3 outfits and 8 diapers in the 6 or 7 hours we were at Grandma's. What can you do?!?
Enjoy the pictures....and we wish everyone a very happy new year!!!
