Just a swingin

We've had a couple of beautiful Spring days lately...yes I know it's February...welcome to Texas!! We decided to take advantage of the weather and take Brady to the park and introduce him to the swings! He loves it!!
WEEEEEE!!
Why did it take 6 months for you to show me this?

Look mom...no hands
Brady got a package in the mail last week...inside was his belated valentines present from Nana and Grandanny.....a stuffed Monkey pillow...just what every little boy needs right?!!?!? Brady had a great time rolling around and wrestling with the monkey. He's definitely all boy!
Hey...get off my face
take that...
What? The Monkey started it....

And I'm going to finish it...

How do you like me now?

I'm pooped...let's be friends!

CHEESE

For his 1/2 birthday present, we took Brady to get his picture taken! Of course Mommy and Daddy spent WAY too much money on pictures, but just look....what's a parent to do when your kid is this cute and does this great for a photo shoot! Mommy is now a HUGE fan of Portrait Innovations (moms...check for one in your area they're great) they worked so well with the little guy and were VERY reasonably priced. Much better than my first experience with Olan Mills...grrrr.
Hope you enjoy...these are only a few...some of my favorites, but I'm sure I"ll post more later!

big boy in a little chair!

Mom, you've got to tell Grandpa about this chair I really, really want one!
Sweet boy
MOM...my toes are gone...where are they?
Well hello Mr. Bear
How cute are these shorts?!?!

Daddy's so funny....too bad he's not down eye level with the camera
PHEW....here they are ....see?
Okay this is my absolute FAVORITE....look at that face...what a goof ball!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Brady

Our little baby is 6 months old!!!!!
We went for his 6 month check up on Thursday and here are our stats....
20lbs - 95th percentile
28 inches - 95th percentile
I can't remember the actual measurements on his head b/c I couldn't get past the fact that it was "off the charts" meaning over 100th percentile...OOPS! Looks like we have a big noggin!!!!
Other than obviously never being able to wear ball caps everthing was great! He's sitting up great for his age, and gets to start stage 2 foods, and some table foods at our discretion!
Here's our cute 6 month old! What a big boy!

Last weekend we got to travel to Kaufman to attend a golf benefit for one of mommy's high school friends that has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Brady and daddy got to meet a lot of mommy's friends and hear some fun stories about her when she was younger! One of the definite highlights was getting to meet Crazy Paula! Mommy has told Brady so much about her friend Ashley's mom and how fun and special she is to mommy. So what a treat when Crazy Paula came down to Granny's house to give Brady some long overdue lovin!!! Brady's super excited b/c Ashley (paula's daughter who's last name is Brewer too!!) is about to have a baby boy - Hudson - Brady can't wait to have a playmate!!!

Here's Brady with Crazy Paula!! And thank you to Granny for hosting our little reunion!
In other news! We got a WAAY overdue visit from our cousins this week. Jacob and Hannah have had the flu for what seems like forver....and seeing as we weren't really intersted in catching the flu..... we haven't seen them in a long time. It was so fun to get to hang out with them...we'll have to do it again real soon guys!

Brady, you have something on your ear

Look at these two little bundles of joy....let's remember Hannah is 5 months older than Brady...can you tell?!?!?!?! And Hannah, we're totally digging the pigtails!! I missed you thiiiis much Brady!

We have a sitter!

Brady can now sit up by himself....well pretty much by himself. He's still a little wobbly every now and then - hence the boppy pillow around his waist...just a little extra cushion in case mommy and daddy aren't fast enough to catch him!! Yea Brady...we're so proud of you Big Boy!!!
If I could just get my fingers open I could grab that ball.....

Batter up! Watch out Astros here comes Brady!
So many toys...so little time
Mom..don't just sit there, help me choose one of these
Hello? No, Mommy can't talk right now - she's playing paparazzi again...
such a big boy sitting all by himself next to Nana
Snuggling with Mommy's blankie
Snuggling with mommy while she recovers. Please remember (when looking at my lack of makeup and my lack of hair style) that I just had surgery...give a girl a break! Is there anything more precious than a sleeping baby?!?

Gall Bladders...who needs 'em

Evidently I don't! For those of you who don't know, I had my galbladder removed Thursday evening. We just thought that I was only high maintenance during pregnancy!
I started having stomach and back pain last Friday, and had another episode on Monday night. And let me tell you guys, when I say episode, I mean I've never felt pain like this before...and let's remember that I just gave birth!! Anyway, after Monday night I started kinda asking around and after talking to our trainer and our school nurse I had just about convinced myself that I had kidney stones...and knowing that there wasn't too much you could do for kidney stones I wasn't that worried about it. That is until Wednesday night rolled around and I started having more stomach pain around 9:00pm. So off to the ER we went. We got there about 10:00 pm and finally got back to see someone about 1:00am. You've gotta love the efficiency of Emergency Rooms!
After blood work, urine tests and all that fun stuff they finally decided to do a CT scan. The doctors were pretty convinced that I had kidney stones and were surprised to report to me that it was actually gal stones and that my galbladder was very infected and needed to come out. So, I was admitted into the hospital, and had surgery about 6:00 Thursday night. Everything went well, and I'm back home. I'm pretty sore and moving around fairly slow, but I'm home!
We definitely need to say a big thank you to Grandma for coming and hanging out with Brady on Thursday so Daddy could be at the hospital with Mommy. And to Nana for coming to take care of mommy at the hospital and for hanging out at home with us this weekend while I recover. Brady's loving all the attention he's getting, although he's a little confused why mommy's not holding him very much. Needless to say Mommy's pretty upset that she's not holding him as much either!!
ALSO, I need to say I'm sorry to Ashley Brewer, the mommy to be that I was suppose to throw a shower for today in Kaufman!! Obviously I didn't make it.....some people will do anything to miss a shower huh??!?!? I'm so thankful to my grandmother and Ashley's mother, sister and sister in law who are picking up the pieces and giving Ashley and baby Hudson a great shower!! Sorry guys!!
Thanks for all your prayers, phone calls, emails and etc. We've definitely appreciated all the support.
And because I know you guys want to see pictures and are tired of hearing about me...here's a few pics of the little guy this week - pre mommy's surgery!!!
I'm so tall!

Such a happy boy playing with his toys!We also introduced a sippy cup this week. Look how good he's doing! He did pick it right up and put it right in his mouth, but please don't be fooled...he's much more into chewing on the nipple than actually drinking out of the cup..oh well, baby steps right?!?!?
