Oh my goodness I’m raising a stinker!! I’ve always prayed that Brady would have Jeff’s personality! But more and more I’m discovering that my sweet little man is a little stubborn and ornery just like his momma!!!
Brady is at the stage where he is constantly testing us. Example:
Me: “Brady, stay on the sidewalk”
Brady looks up at me, lifts up one foot and puts it in the grass……maintaining eye contact the whole time….seriously taunting me as if to say “I’m not on the sidewalk anymore what are you going to do about it?”
So, needless to say we’ve entered the world of time outs. I’ve chosen one spot in the house and that’s where I put Brady for time out. He hasn’t had to go a ton, but there have definitely been some rotten moments that have landed him under the bar! It was working…he seemed to be listening better. UNTIL the other night…….One of his favorite things to do is turn off the TV…even though he knows he’s not supposed to. So he began his trek to the TV with his arm stretched out finger pointed at the button looking at me as if daring me to tell him no. I said “Brady Scott (yes I’m turning into my mother I used his middle name!) if you turn off that TV you’re going to time out.” so what did Brady do you might ask? Well he turned off the TV, walked over and put himself in time out. I guess it was worth it!!! So if anyone has a suggestion as to what…other than time out…. I can use please let me know!!!
don’t let this sweet little face fool you….he’s 100% ROTTEN!
We have moved Brady to a new day care. He’s in a preschool class with 20 other kiddo’s and 5 teachers. He’s loving it and has really learned a lot in the 4 short weeks he’s been there. Every day when I pick him up I of course ask how his day was and if he was good…you know the normal routine. Yesterday he ran to me and I was holding him and talking to one of his teachers. I said “did he have to go to time out today?” Before she could answer, Brady put his hand on my face turned me toward him and shook his head violently and said “no…no"” GREAT! let’s add lying to our list!!
I know these stories are probably boring to everyone except the grandparents, but I wanted to remember this time. As frustrating as it sometimes is, it’s so fun to see his personality blossom and to watch him learn as he tests us. He is talking more everyday and really learning to tell us what he wants…thank goodness I was about done with all the pointing and grunting!! AND last night he pointed to the picture on the refrigerator and said “Grandanny”…I know not an easy word to say!! Needless to say Grandanny was very happy and Nana was very jealous!!!!
another pic of my cute, ornery little man!!! Good thing he’s got that cute dimpled smile huh?!?!?!?
