just another saturday

Yesterday was a  lazy Saturday morning!!    Brady had a soccer game at 2:00 and Jeff and I had a date night later that evening…but the morning held nothing but lazy family time!!!  And evidently a crazy momma with a camera!

We had Halloween round 1 yesterday!  Brady got to dress up for school and they took the little kids trick or treating to the different classrooms in the building!!! Brady was so excited to get dressed up!  He asked all week “when’s it going to be Wednesday?”  And let me tell you…this kid LOADED up on loot!!  We have a ton of candy that of course I will never let him eat!!!  Well…not all of it anyway!!!

Karsyn rolled over yesterday!!!  TWICE…..and yes I cried!!  We’re so proud of our little girl!!!  Never in a million years did we expect Karsyn to be the first of the K’s to roll over!!  I’m not sure why I ever doubt the power of our God!!

Of course I have yet to capture it on camera…but I thought I’d include a few pictures just to make you smile!! Little girl has also been giggling and smiling like CRAZY for us!  Enjoy!

The rest of the trip

Julie and I loaded up the minivan Friday morning with all 4 big kids and headed to Rockwall!  The ride went GREAT!  We gave them each a bag of goodies for the ride and they were pretty entertained the whole way.  It’s hilarious to listen to them talk to each other….oh the conversations we heard!!  We were sad to leave Daddy and the K’s behind, but we decided it was probably best not to have them around so many people at the beginning of RSV season!  And although I missed my babies, I enjoyed spending some one on one time with big brother!  The kids had a great time at Nana and Grandanny’s…I’ll let the pictures do the talking!!

Happy Birthday Granny

This weekend Brady and I made a trip to Rockwall for a very special party.  Granny, my mom’s mom, is turning 80!!  Our plan had been to have a big surprise party for her, but I guess 80 years brings the ability to know what your grandaughter and daughter in law are planning way ahead of time…. because about 2 months ago Granny started hinting (not so subtly) that she DID NOT WANT A BIG PARTY.   So Juli and I quickly amended our plans and decided a nice family gathering was just what the birthday girl needed/wouldn’t kill us for!!!  Even though she wouldn’t let us throw a big party, we had a few tricks up our sleeves!!  You see Granny is a H-U-G-E Rangers fan…..luckily the Rangers were still playing in the play-offs and we were lucky enough to find 2 tickets to last Friday’s game against the Yankee’s!  So Granny and her only Grandson got to go and try to cheer the rangers to victory…and they almost did it.  Even though they lost I’m pretty sure it was an experience and a memory they’ll both remember for years to come!  Saturday our family (minus Jeff and the twins), and Bryan’s family gathered to celebrate Granny!  We had cake, fellowship and maybe even a fun slideshow of Granny’s 80 years!!

I’m so glad we got to spend a weekend honoring such a special lady.  Growing up, Granny and Pa lived next door to us.  I didn’t realize until years later just how special it was to have them within walking distance.  To be able to watch, so closely, two people that strive to please God in everything they do.  The love Granny had for her husband was amazing…..and the generosity and compassion she shows for all those around her is inspiring.  I feel so blessed to have her as such an important integral part of my life…and now such an important part of my kids lives.   I love you Granny!  Happy Birthday!!!

The Sharks

That would be the name of Brady’s soccer team!! And a fierce team it is!!! Brady’s having a blast playing and Daddy’s have a good time coaching!!!  Brady scored his first goal a couple of weeks ago…now it might have been for the wrong team..but hey he scored!!!   He’ll be ready to play with “daddy’s girls” in NO time!!!!
