Homecoming Parade – year 3!

It’s homecoming time again!!  I love activities that are annual events that I have pictures of to document from year to year!!! Join me as I walk down memory lane!!

and the boys this year!   They’re getting so big IMG_4667

We had a blast as usual and Brady enjoyed a little one on one time with mommy…no crying babies to interfere!!!  Sadly daddy had to miss the parade this year and stay home with the K’s!  With cold and flu season on the horizon K sightings will be limited to Dr. appointments!

The boys got a little bored waiting on the parade to start so they decided to take a load off after a hard day!homecoming parade 2010 015

little stinker!

are they ever going to get here with the candy?homecoming parade 2010 001

Our group keeps multiplying!!!  So fun to have so many kids to continue our homecoming tradition with!!  Next year we’ll need a wide angle lens to get the K’s and the three other additions coming to our group in October and December!!!

Where you going Evan?!?!IMG_4670

this is where you could find Brady anytime a “character” like the mascot came by!!!  He’s not a big fan of dressed up animals :)  IMG_4678

It began raining right as the parade was finished so we took the boys in to play in the halls for a little while to dry off!  I flashed forward 10 years as I watched them “opening” their lockers!!!IMG_4679 IMG_4680

Happy Homecoming!!!

I do it myself

Brady is very independent – which works out well with 2 six month olds!  I hear the phrase “I do it myself mom” several times a day.  This particular day he wanted grapes,  I offered to get them for him and he wouldn’t have it…he must have sat in the floor for 15 minutes getting his bowl of grapes!!!

Such a sweet boy!! September 11 006

this one didn’t pass inspection…. “it’s yukky”September 11 007

I love my little independent boy!!  Such a joy – even when he’s a stinker!!!  3 is definitely a challenging stage.  Summed up best, I think, by my words to my dad last week…. “how is it that I can love someone so much it hurts and want to beat them all at the same time?”  of course I don’t actually beat my child….all the time…..you guys know what I mean!!!!!!!!!

Go Texans

The Brewer’s whole heartedly support the Texans!!!!   I L-O-V-E Sunday afternoons!!!  We lounge around, watch tv, Brady and I make a special treat and we just enjoy family time!!!  But of course we have to dress to show our support of our favorite team!!!!

My sweet Texan fans!!! IMG_4640

fortunately the boys kicked into gear in the second half and beat the Redskins in overtime!!!

and just because it’s cute….Brady wanted to feed Kaden!! Such a sweet big brother!!!IMG_4653

Curious George

Brady had an extra special day Saturday!!!!  Curious George Live came to Houston and Grandanny and Nana were nice enough to come in and take Jacob, Hannah, and Brady to see it!!!  We have a minor obsession with “monkey george” in our house so needless to say Brady was fired up and LOVED every minute of it!!!

Grandanny with the crew!  Evidently my mom wasn’t concerned with getting all of dad’s head in this pic!!  September 18 001

All 3 kiddo’s had a great time! Brady is still talking about it and singing the theme song (well part of it!).  Thanks again Grandanny and Nana – You’re the best!!!

6 months

This post is late, as usual, but at least it’s here!!!!  On September 3rd our little K’s were 6 months old!!!  For every baby 6 months is a huge milestone, but for our babies it marked that they have officially been on the outside as long as (and now longer) than they were on the inside.   hmmmm something’s not right here!!!  They are both doing well and continue to amaze us!

The twins!!

a grin from KarsynSeptember 18 019

and one from Kaden….why would they smile at the same time?!?!?September 18 025

Kaden James – Baby A!!

sweet “little” Kaden!  His stats at his 6 month appointment:

16lbs and 22 3/4 inches

He is in the 15th percentile for weight….and still not on the charts for height!  He definitely earns his nickname tubby!!  Kaden is such a happy little guy…as long as he’s being held!  He LOVES to smile and will give you that big open mouth grin at the drop of a hat!  We started feeding him this month and he loves it!! He’s had rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and avocados so far!  I’m making his baby food and am loving it!! It’s easy, cheap, and good for them!!!  He continues to do well with his therapy.  His neck/head control is amazing and he sits (supported of course) well.  This kid loves to be sitting up watching what’s going on.  We’re currently working on his tummy muscles and hopefully as he strengthens those he’ll find his toes and start to sit on his own a little!!! We’re so proud of our little man and all that he’s accomplished in his 6 months!!

Look at that smile!!!!September 18 026

hey, who’s that handsome boy in front of me??IMG_4597

Karsyn Jane – Baby B!

My sweet little laid back princess!!  Her stats from her 6 month appointment:

11.11lbs 22 3/4 inches

she still isn’t on the charts for height or weight, but she is gaining weight and is proportional.  Dr. Isenhower is very pleased with how well she’s doing!!!  We went back to see Dr. Dauser last week and we don’t have to go back again for 6 weeks!!!!!  This may not seem like a big deal but we’ve been going in every week to every 2 weeks so this is a MAJOR accomplishment!!  My calendar just opened up a ton!!!  He said her fontanels (soft spot)  are looking great and as of right now it doesn’t look as if she will need another shunt!  Of course we know anything can happen, but we’ll enjoy this improvement right now!!!  Karsyn is doing well with her therapy too.  We’re still working on her neck/head control and while it’s not as good as Kaden’s she’s improving every day!!  We’re so proud of her!  We haven’t started food with her yet….probably another month away from that so she’s trucking along with her breast milk and is doing great!!!  She is definitely starting to smile and interact more.  She doesn’t hand out the open mouth smiles quite like Kaden does, but that just makes them all the more special!!!!  She is the most relaxed baby ever!!!  She is so content sitting in her bouncy seat playing by herself and is such a little cuddle bug…we just love this sweet little girl!!

Funny Karsyn story:  I can’t believe I haven’t posted about this – guess I”m just a little busy – but about 3 weeks ago Karsyn was unbelievably fussy one morning.  I’m talking inconsolable.  This went on for about 3 hours and after consulting Dr. Dauser’s nurse she agreed she should head to the ER.  Any fussiness/fever or abnormal behavior could mean shunt malfunction or infection so we can’t take any chances.  So I take off work, go pick her up and as soon as I get her in the car the crying stops.  We get to the ER and as we’re going through the normal slew of questions “Why did you bring her in today?”  my response as my daughter smiles at them “because she’s hysterical….can’t you tell”  PERFECT!  After we did the CT scan and xrays and met with our neurosurgeon just to make sure, the ER pediatrician came in and said “well neuro released you but I can’t explain for you why she was so fussy…it might have been….”  I interrupt “yes, I’m aware I just brought my daughter to the ER for GAS”  Yes I’m that psycho mom that brought her kid to the ER for no reason!!!   Oh well what can you do….we can’t take any chances with sweet little Karsyn!!

Kicked back relaxing on the boppy!!!  And yes that’s mommy’s blanket!!!IMG_4594

Happy 6 months my K’s!!!

# 50

Saturday was a big day in the Brewer house!! It was Brady’s first soccer game!! And you guessed it…he’s # 50!!  I’m really not sure who was more excited Brady or Daddy who is of course the coach of the 3 year old soccer team!!!  Brady was so fired up and so excited to finally get to wear the special shin guards, and socks we bought for his game!! Of course all of the above went GREAT with his fun soccer shoes that match Daddy’s!!!  It was very hot on Saturday, but despite the heat I think our little star had a good time!!  Not sure what the score was but we had one tired little boy when all was said and done!!!

We started the special day with soccer muffins of course!!!September 11 012

dressed and ready to go!!!

oh no dad I missed

September 11 040

I didn’t get great pictures and if they looked a little far away…they WERE…and I was using a telephoto lens!! I was far away because Brady’s littlest/biggest fans wanted to be a part of the fun!!!!  I figured since it was outside in the open air and I could alienate myself from everyone fairly easy, that this would be a great outing for the twins!!  It was a little hot, but they did great!!!!

don’t let their less than enthusiastic look fool you….they had a blast!!

September 11 020  September 11 024

and check out their awesome shoes!!! They have baby samba’s like their brother and daddy!!!  Thanks Jaclyn we love them!

It was so much fun to see my little man out playing soccer!! If his daddy has anything to say about it I’m sure this is the first of many!! I LOVE it!!

first road trip

because the babies can’t really go anywhere (because their mom is  crazy scared of germs!!) we’re all getting a little stir crazy!! So we decided to take a little road trip to see Grandanny and Nana!!  Just because we’re quarantined doesn’t mean we can’t be quarantined in rockwall!!!  The trip there was CRAZY to say the least!  We left at 4:30 on Thursday afternoon.  Between bathroom breaks, baby feedings, more bathroom breaks, one baby puking, and more bathroom breaks…when my mom called at 8:30 to see where we were and how the trip was going I got to respond “we’re in Huntsville”  Yep 4 hours to get to Huntsville….that used to take us 1 1/2 hours…. we finally arrived in Rockwall at midnight!!  But it was worth it!! We had a great time and the trip back only took 5 hours!!

These are seriously the only pictures I took all weekend…..guess we were too busy having fun!

We went to visit Granny, Uncle Bryan and Aunt Juli on Friday!

I don’t know who was more excited about getting to ride the tractor…daddy or brady! IMG_4569

country boys at heart!!!IMG_4570

Uncle Bryan finally got to meet the twins!!  Jeff and I even got to sneak in a nap while the twins slept and Bryan took Brady exploring in the woods!!!  Thanks again guys!!IMG_4571

and no trip to nana and grandanny’s is complete without swimming!!!

his ready pose!IMG_4575 IMG_4580

mommy’s little fishy’s!!!IMG_4577

It was beautiful this weekend!!  Temps in the 80’s and we were actually able to bring the twins outside for a while!!!  Nana and Grandanny also allowed Jeff and I to go to dinner and a movie!! What a treat!!  Pretty sure they won’t offer to keep all 3 again but at least we snuck one in there!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for a great visit!!!
